We breed registered Italian Maremmas. They are raised with our family and on our farm. From birth they have been around all of our animals, learning from their mother to be livestock guardians. We have both parents on site since they were puppies. We specifically chose the two of them as breeding stock. We have nine puppies available from our current litter, they were born December 21, 2024. We are taking deposits now.

Maremmas are very good family dogs. They are protective of their chickens, and other livestock, as well as their humans. They also get along well with other dog breeds. We also have two Rottweilers.
While they make great family dogs, keep in mind that they need a job to do. They need a farm to protect. We work with them from birth on their ability to protect. Educating yourself on livestock guardian dogs is a must before making the investment.
I will say, we have not had any issues with predators as long as the dogs have been around our flock of chickens. Prior to that, it was a huge problem.
They are also very beautiful. The coloring is consistently pure white.
They do great in the warm weather as well as the cold, they shed their coat based on their geographical location.
They remind me of an English Cream Golden Retriever.
Shockingly, even with all the red clay in our part of North Carolina, they stay white with no effort on our part.
Why Italian Maremmas Sheepdogs? We picked this breed as our livestock guardians after much research.
A lot of LGD are prone to wander, and…. are also more inclined to be stubborn.
Maremmas are less likely to roam.
They are also highly intelligent and very eager to please. When we first got our Maremmas, Rosa and Rocco, we were shocked by their submissive behavior too!
Livestock guardians are a working class of dogs and are found on farms. It is very common for them to be a mix of breeds. When you don’t know the actual breed, and there are no registered papers, you could be getting anything. It could be a breed that is actually a predator to your animals.
A lot of other LGD breeds have been overbred with very low standards.
We wanted to know for certain what we were having around our animals as well as our children.
Some LGD’s first line of defense is taking down a predator by biting or attacking. For a Maremma the first thing they do is bark, for us that was very important with having lots of kids around all of the time.
